Circumstances and consequences of Ural nuclear plants releases
Creators

Description
The Mayak nuclear complex in the east of Ural leads to two major catastrophes: the contamination of the Tetcha river with middle and high level radioactive liquid wastes releases (more than 105 TBq) and the Mayak plants accident (named the Kyshtym accident) involving the explosion of a high level tank (more than 106 TBq). The distribution doses between the normal and the accidental operation conditions are given for the nearby population and workers of the Mayak complex. (A.B.). 14 refs., 5 tabs
