We report the numerical analysis and experimental investigation in the acceleration regime of an accelerating section connected to a traveling-wave resonant ring with a controllable directional coupler. A controllable transmission wave coefficient permits optimal use of the power of the high-frequency source over a wide range of variation of the accelerated electron beam current
