A second-law analysis on the expediency of intermediate cooling for combustion air compressors
Description
In this paper, after some general considerations, the possible advantages of intermediate cooling in blast furnace air compression plants are examined by means of a second-law analysis. Various technical parameters are considered and the blast flow rate which is the break-even point for the expediency of an intermediate cooling is investigated
