Standard sources for the efficiency calibration of photon detectors in the energy range from 5 to 40 keV

Description
The production and use of radioactive standard sources suitable for the efficiency calibration of Si(Li) and germanium detectors in the energy range from 5 to 40 keV is described. Special attention was given to self absorption which could be reduced to about 1% or less by applying appropriate source preparation procedures. (author)
