The spreading of deuterium in animals organism

Description

The usual concentration of deuterium in water is about 144 ppm D/(D+H). It is known that the increasing of deuterium in the body of living animals is a naturally bioaccumulation process and could be enhanced by adding heavy water to their diet - with obviously dramatically changes in health state. The aim of this study was to investigate how far can influence a deuterium depleting agent the decreasing of value of deuterium at two different animal species (rat and chicken) to reduce the damages made for highest deuterium levels. The analysis results show that the deuterium depleting agent has an effect in both species, but the rate of depletion is in correlation with a couple of factors, such as: species, age, concentration of deuterium depleting agent, period of administration of deuterium depleting agent.
