Description
Using a discharge tube and a theta-pinch, the spectrum of six times ionized krypton (Kr VII) has been observed in the 300-2100 A range and 17 new lines have been identified as transitions between levels of the 4s2, 4s4d, 4p2, 4s5s, 4s4p and 4s5p configurations. Five new levels belonging to the configurations 4s5s and 4s5p have been determined. The results of this analysis are supported by isoelectronic comparisons along the Zn I isoelectronic sequence and Hartree-Fock calculations. The configurations are interpreted by fitting the theoretical energy parameters to the observed levels using least-squares techniques. (orig.)
