Description
Hydrogenlike and heliumlike xenon ions have been produced at GANIL. All Lyman and Balmer lines of both ions have been observed, for the first time. The energies of these lines, belonging to the heaviest ions ever studied, have been compared with detailed multi-configurational Dirac-Fock calculations
