Thermal signature of the Unruh effect in the interference pattern
- 1. Departamento de Física, Universidade Federal do Piauí, Teresina, PI, 64049-550 (Brazil)
Description
Highlights: • Interferometry and fringe visibility. • Uniformly accelerated detectors. • Unruh effect modifies the interference pattern. • Relation between the visibility and the Unruh temperature. We introduce a simple and original method that allows to investigate the effect of acceleration on a typical single particle interferometer. For simplicity, we present our method in the language of quantum gate operation. We show that the interaction between an uniformly accelerated detector and a massless scalar field modify the interference pattern. In this scheme, the visibility of the interference pattern encodes information about the Unruh temperature.
