Assessment of body doses from measured values of indicators: Neutrons

Creators

Description

Assessing organ or effective body doses in the case of normally nonuniform accidental exposure or even chronic or repeated low dose exposure, under varying irradiation conditions from the values of biological indicators is generally impossible and in addition of low relevance. The reverse stategy implies the performance of radiation transport calculations in anthropoid standard phantoms and the application of quantitative radiobiological models to simulate common or even individual exposure situations up to the detrimental endpoint. The forecasted effects may then be intercompared with the measured ones and interactively adjusted to each other with the growing number of investigated cases and know-how. (orig.)
