Description
Tungsten heavy alloys i.e. tungsten based metal-matrix composites are characterized by unique properties, because except their high hardness, strength and density, they also possess excellent ductility, impact strength, machinability and corrosion resistance. There are shown results of mechanical properties investigations 90W-7Ni-3Fe composites, obtained by traditional and resistance method. The samples were produced by three variants of production process. It was found that microhardness of matrix, yield strength and maximum true stress of sinters made by resistance method is higher than conventional sinters, but their properties are similar at the condition of high strain rate.
