On the problem of determination of steel inclination to intergranular corrosion

Description
Critical overview is provided of the methods intended to evaluate the tendency of stainless steels to intercrystalline corrosion by bending the samples after they have been subjected to boiling in the standard solution (CuSO4x5H2O+ H2SO4). A table is proposed designes for the selection of the mandrel radius with due regard for the plasticity of the steel under test
