New method for preparing alkali and alkaline earth metal decavanadates

Description
Consideration is given to the method for preparing decavanadates of alkali and alkaline earth metals by interaction of V2O5 with carbonate of corresponding metal in the presence of catalytic amounts of hydrogen peroxide at H2O2:V2O5 molar ratio from 0.1 to 0.5. The use of H2O2 enables to synthesize decavanadates at lower temperatures (to 50 deg C) and thus to minimize their decomposition to polyvanadates. 24 refs., 1 tab
