Canada and the Kyoto Protocol: Fact Sheet No. 3 - The Kyoto Mechanisms
Description
The Canadian view of the Kyoto Mechanisms -- the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Joint Implementation (JI), and International Emissions Trading (IET) are reiterated. In brief, Canada wants to make sure that countries have ready access to these Kyoto Mechanisms and that they will work without undue constraints. It is also made clear that Canada wishes to make use of the provisions of the Protocol that allow countries to achieve environmental goals at lower costs
