Ballooning instability in the Earth magnetosphere at unsteady pressure and finite β

Description
Flute instability with constant pressure is investigated taking into account the effects of high-pressure plasma and longitudinal wave number, in the last case the instability goes into the balloon instability caused by noncollineasrity of plasma pressure gradient and magnetic force line curvature vector. A dispersion equation for the balloon mode is derived and excitation increment is estimated
