Welding of niobium alloys with stainless steel using defocused electron beam
- 1. Moskovskij Aviatsionnyj Tekhnologicheskij Inst. (USSR)
Description
To obtain welded joints of niobium VN2AEh and EhLN1 alloys with the stainless 12Kh18N10T steel of 2-5 mm thick it is expedient to use the electron-beam welding by defocused electron beam. The welding is carried out under the modes providing the heating and the keeping of steel and niobium temperature in the joint zone not higher than 1480 deg C. Strength of welded joints at room temperature depends upon the strength of niobium alloy
