Irradiation testing of LEU fuels in the SILOE Reactor - Progress report

  • 1. C. E. A. - Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Grenoble (France)

Description

Irradiation of uranium-silicide fuels has continued in the SILOE reactor during the past year. Thickness vs. fission density data from four U3Si plates containing 5.5 and 6.0 g U/cm3 have been analyzed, and the results are presented. The irradiation of a full 60 g U/cm3 U3Si element has begun. In addition, four U3Si2 plates containing 20 to 54 g U/cm3 are now being irradiated. These irradiations and future plans are discussed in the paper. (author)
