Transport properties of chalcogenide spinel compound CuRh2Se4 under pressure

Description

Electrical resistivity ρ(T) measurements have been carried out under quasihydrostatic pressures at 0.1MPa and 6.5GPa for the chalcogenide spinel compound CuRh2Se4 with the superconducting transition temperature Tc=3.5K. At 0.1MPa, ρ(T) shows metallic T-dependence with -bar ρ(T)/-bar T>0 above Tc. At 6.5GPa, a broad peak appears in ρ(T) around a characteristic temperature T* ( ∼91K) after having local minimum value around 220K as T decreases. By compression, Tc increases to 4.9K at 6.5GPa. Similar behavior is seen in the pressure dependence of ρ(T) below 5.0GPa in CuRh2S4 which shows a pressure-induced superconductor-insulator transition at about 5.3GPa
