Description
It is found that the Schroedinger equation for the Rydberg electron in a symmetric-top polar molecule is separable in the diabatic limit (when the spacings between the rotational levels of the ion exceed the spacings between the Rydberg states). The separation of variables procedure is presented and the eigenvalues and eigenstates are obtained. (orig.)
