Ab-initio calculation of the effective exchange couplings in rare-earth -transition-metal intermetallics

Description
The effective exchange couplings JRT and JRR (R=transition-metal sublattice, T=rare-earth sublattice) are calculated ab-initio within the local-spin-density approximation and the linear-muffin-tin-orbital theory. The results for the series RFe2 and R2Fe14B as well as for R2Fe17 with R=Dy, Ho, Er and for SmCo5 are compared with experimental data. (orig.)
