Radiation aspects of the BOR-60 reactor operation with vibropac mixed oxide fuel

Description

Comparative analysis of the results of investigations on radiation safety of the sodium cooled BOR-60 reactor is given. Large-scale fuel assembly tests have shown that cesium release from vibropacked fuel elements was 3 times lower than that from fuel elements with uranium pellets and radiation conditions did not become worse even in the case of long-time operation with failed fuel elements
