Development of domestic hot water systems in Costa Rica from solar energy

Description
A software tool is developed to implement the solar domestic hot water systems (DHW) in Costa Rica and to replace the electric water heating equipment. A database with information from the solar radiation is elaborated for different locations in Costa Rica. A manual of design DHW solar systems is realized for the country. An DHW solar system is designed for the type of average building the of country. A software is implemented to calculate the parameters and dimensions necessary for the solar installation of DHW, using the F-Chart method; in addition, the information of the mentioned database is included. A financial analysis is elaborated of the DHW solar systems in Costa Rica. The strategies are proposed for the implementation of DHW solar systems in Costa Rica

Una herramienta de software es desarrollada para implementar los sistemas solares de agua caliente sanitaria (ACS) en Costa Rica y sustituir los equipos electricos de calentamiento de agua. Una base de datos con informacion de la radiacion solar es elaborada para las diferentes localidades de Costa Rica. Un manual de diseno de sistemas solares de ACS es realizado para el pais. Un sistema solar de ACS es disenado para el tipo de edificacion promedio del pais. Un software es implementado para calcular los parametros y dimensiones necesarios para la instalacion solar de ACS, empleando el metodo F-Chart; ademas, la informacion de la citada base de datos es incluida.
