Possibilities and limits of dynamic computerized tomography

  • 1. Medizinische Akademie, Dresden (German Democratic Republic). Radiologische Klinik

Description

Starting from fixed examination parameters in dynamic CT, possibilities and limits of this method are shown. Among other things they depend on the examination region (for instance the brain or upper abdomen), on the disease and on the formulation of the clinical problem as well as on the condition of the patient. The dynamic CT proves to be especially practice-relevant in the formulations of the question is respect to intracranial expansion, in case of an elucidation of intrahepatic focal lesions, and to the characterization of the acute pancreatitis especially referring to the demarcation of the haemorrhagic-necrotic form. By the dynamic CT it becomes possible to evade invasive modes of diagnosis and to prevent a surgical treatment respectively or to make it more effective. (author)
