Description

The role of protective and restoration properties of tissue hemopoietic cells in Meriones unquiculatres in increased radiosensitivity of these animals is investigated. The radiosensitivity criterion is the frequency of aberrant cells in spleen and the value of mytotic index. For mytotic activity the dependence of radiation effect of X-rays on the dose value (3.5, 7.0 and 12.0 Gy) and tissue fixation term after single irradiation is established. Dose fractionation brings about changes in the radiation effect. The comparison of dynamics of frequency of cells with spleen aberrations after irradiation of animals by two different methods has shown that dose fractionation does not affect the value of damaging effect. The results obtained prove that high activity of reparation processes which are one of factors determining increased radiosensitivity of Meriones unquiculatres is typical for cells of the hemopoietic system of these animals
