Economy, policy and climatic change: skeptics are right?
Description
A degree of scepticism about the present apocalyptic forecast on damaging climate change might be in order and one does not have to be a climate change denier. On a cooler view of climate change, a more constructive approach would be to recognize the huge uncertainties that exist and to seek flexible means of dealing with problems that may arise. A direct and centralized government action seems not very convincing. On contrary, well functioning markets will produce efficient and flexible solutions.
Abstract (Italian)
Un certo grado di scetticismo sulle attuali previsioni apocalittiche circa i danni del cambiamento climatico e normale e non significa negare il fenomeno. Secondo una visione piu razionale, un approccio piu costruttivo dovrebbe riconoscere le grandi incertezze che esistono e cercare strumenti flessibili con cui affrontare i problemi che possono insorgere. Un'azione diretta e centralizzata dei governi contro i cambiamenti climatici e poco convincente. Per contro, mercati ben funzionanti tendono a produrre soluzioni efficaci e flessibili.Additional details
