Protection set-points lines for the reactor core and considerations about power distribution and peak factors
Description
In order to assure the reactor core integrity during the slow operational transients (power excursion above the nominal value and the high coolant temperature), the formation of a steam film (DNB-Departure from Nucleate Boiling) in the control rods must be avoided. The protection set points lines presents the points where DNBR (relation between critical heat flux-q sub(DNB) and the local heat flux-q' sub(local) is equal to 1.30, corrected by peak factors and uncertainty in function of ΔTr and T sub(R), respectively coolant elevation and medium coolant temperature in reactor pressure vessel. The curve set-points were determined using a new version of COBRA-IIIF (CUPRO) computer code, implemented with new subroutines and linearized convergence scheme. Pratical results for Angra-1 core were obtained and its were compared with the results from the fabricator. (E.G.)

Para garantir a integridade do nucleo do reator durante transitorios lentos operacionais (excursao da potencia acima da nominal e temperatura elevada do refrigerante), deve-se evitar a formacao de Filme de Vapor (DNB - Departure from Nuclear de Boiling) (1) nas barras de combustivel. As curvas de protecao apresentam os pontos onde DNBR (relacao entre o fluxo critico - q' sub(DNB) e fluxo de calor local - q' sub(local) e igual a 1.30, corrigidos por Fatores de Pico e incertezas, em funcao de ΔT sub(R) e Tr, , respectivamente elevacao e temperatura media do refrigerante no vaso do reator. Os pontos das curvas foram determinados utilizando uma nova versao do COBRA-IIIF (CUPRO), implementada com novas rotinas e esquema de Convergencia Linearizados. Obteve-se resultados praticos do Nucleo de Angra-1 e comparados com os do fabricante. (Autor)Files
