Complete determination of gauge boson self-interactions in the BESS model
Description
The electroweak gauge theory with nonlinearly realized SSB (BESS model), which is the Higgs-less alternative to the SM, is defined by a nonrenormalizable lagrangian. Consequently, new interactions emerge at each loop order. We calculate these (quantum-induced) contributions to both cubic and quartic gauge boson self-interactions and observe a striking difference between the two cases: while the induced three-boson couplings remain of the pure Yang-Mills type, this is not the case with the quartic ones. Furthermore, it is shown that the resulting interaction strengths are sizably different from the SM ones, if the 'hidden symmetry' parameter λ2 is not small. These deviations from the SM may lead to interesting phenomenological implications, e.g. in W+W- or WZ production. (orig.)
