Stability of cubic tantalum nitrides during heat treatment
- 1. Moskovskij Inzhenerno-Fizicheskij Inst. (USSR)
Description
Thermal stability of tantalum cubic nitrides obtained by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis was studied within a wide range of concentrations. X-ray and neutron diffraction analyses were applied to detect phase transformations in superstoichiometric nitrides after annealing at temperature above 1000 deg C. The X-ray powder patterns of the annealed powders revealed diffraction peaks which cannot be explained by phases known for the tantalum-nitrogen system
