Description
A numerical method for determining the magnetic configuration for MHD equilibrium has been developed, which is used in design of JT-60, a large Tokamak device. The alternating direction implicit method coupled with the 3-step iteration scheme is further improved by addition of the appointment process of plasma parameter (plasma position, shape and current). Operational regime of the vertical field and quadrupole field in JT-60 is determined by this method, and also position and necessary current intensity of the magnetic limiter coils. The calculation is compared with the analytical. (auth.)
