Use of stimulated scattering for ion temperature measurement

  • 1. University of Washington, Seattle, Washington 98195

Description

The use of stimulated Brillouin and Compton scattering is proposed for measurements of ion temperature in a plasma. Experimental spectra are compared with existing theories. Possible applications are discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of this method over Thomson scattering are discussed
