Description
Using the methods of chemical and X-ray phase analysis, Raman, ESR spectroscopy, exchange reactions between salt and metal phases occurring in the process of indium and bismuth refining are studied. It is established that the salt phase is enriched by a more electropositive component - indium - in the form of its lower valency compounds. Introduction of alkali metal chlorides into the salt phase decrease indium transfer into it, and the degree is the higher the larger is alkali metal cation radius. Bromide- and iodide-ion substitution for chloride-ion shifts the equilibrium to the side of the more electronegative metal isolation from the salt phase
