Sputtering of multicomponent coatings by hydrogen plasma ions

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev (Ukrainian SSR). Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

Graphite-base TiC and NbC coatings promising for power-intensive units of the nuclear reactor first wall were bombarded by reflective discharge hydrogen plasma ions to a dose of 5x1019 ionxcm-2. Using a method of nuclear reactions it was found that in the process of the bombardment the near-surface layer of the samples got enriched in a heavy component: in the case of TiC the initial concentration of Ti was 70%, after the bombardment - 85%; in the case of NbC the initial concentration of Nb was 52%, after the bombardment -80%
