Description
The authors describe in detail phase-slippage experiments in superfluid 4He. Using a miniature Helmholtz resonator ending in a submicrometer aperture, single, reproducible dissipation events in the critical flow of superfluid 4He were observed. These events were interpreted as phase slips by 2π. (83 refs., 11 figs.)
