A radioimmunoassay for serum thyroglobulin: results in normal subjects and in thyroid disease

Description
In an early work Roitt and Torrigiani showed by radioimmunoassay (RIA) that human thyroglobulin (HTG) was measurable in the serum of normal individuals. Then, Van Herle et al. developed a more sensitive RIA for hTG and studied its clinical applications; they emphasized the importance of this determination in the follow-up of subjects with differentiated thyroid carcinoma. The authors report here the results using an hTG RIA in normal subjects and in subjects with thyroid disorders. (Auth.)
