Zirconium dioxide based concretes with alumozirconate-calcium binder
Creators
Description
Composition and properties of Al2O3-CeO-ZrO2 system concrete masses are described where powders of electromelted zirconium dioxide and baddeleyite are used as binders. Phase studies of concrete mass with alumozirconate-calcium cement showed that calcium monoaluminate was well preserved up to 1600 deg C and then transformed into a glassy phase. The strength of concrete mass was found to increase with binder content and setting time. Concrete masses at 1600-1750 deg C hadashrinkage which also grew with binder content. That is why the binder content should not exceed 10%
