Determination of NO2- in HNO3-H2C2O4 mixture solution with rivanol method

Description
The determination of NO2-, resulted from the HNO3 oxidation of H2C2O4 in Np-Pu stripping solution, is studied using Rivanol method. The cherry-red complex resulted from reaction of Rivanol reagent with NO2- ion is determined with spectrophotometry in 0.48 mol/L HCl solution. The determination of NO2- is not influenced by the mass ratio R under the conditions of R(NO3-/NO2-)≤3.6 x 10-4 and R(C2O42-/NO2-)≤4.0 x 103. The detection limit of NO2- is 0.02 mg/L, the precision of the method is 3%, the recovery of added standard sample is 97%-105%
