Estimation of the sudden impulse value of the geomagnetic field for the given change of solar wind parameters

Suggested is a new method to evaluate the Values of a positive abrupt pulse and of an abpupt geomagnetic storm, based on the magnetohydrodynamic assessment of the solar wind shock wave collision with the bow wave-Earth magnetosphere system. The intensity of the shock wave in an unrestricted flux is known from the test data. Based on this, the change of the value of pressure on the wave front, that reached the magnetosphere, may be calculated within the framework of the arbitrary rupture decay theory. An abrupt perturbation of the magnetosphere and a corresponding increase in the geomagnetic field value are assessed
