Assurance of safe operation of WWER reactor plants at nuclear power plants
Description
Safe operation of the WWER reactors was the focus of attention throughout the period of design project elaboration based on the requirements specified in the regulations including those specified in the IAEA and the EUR regulations. Upon approval of the first national regulation, the NPP Safety Assurance Basic Rules, in 1973 one undertook efforts to redesign the WWER-440 power units of the first generation. The measures to increase safety covered all types of the WWER-440 and the WWER-1000 reactors. Paper presents information on the implementation of the mentioned measures

Безопасная эксплуатация ВВЭР обсуждалась во время разработки проектов с учетом требований нормативной документации, включая международные требования (МАГАТЭ, EUR). После утверждения в 1973 г. первого отечественного нормативного документа - Основные положения по обеспечению безопасности АЭС - начались работы по реконструкции энергоблоков ВВЭР-440 первого поколения.
