Nuclear magnetization motion under conditions of microscopic inhomogeneity of a hyperfine field

Description

The motion of nuclear magnetization under conditions of microscopic inhomogeneity of the hyperfine field (HFF) is investigated for small deviations from the equilibrium position. It is shown that for the Lorenz distribution function of the HFF the free precession damping coefficient weakly depends on the relation between the dynamic shift of the NMR frequency and the width of the distribution function. For the quadratic Lorentz function, which decreases more rapidly at the wings, the free precession damping coefficient sharply drops on increase of the dynamic frequency shift. Both the free precession frequencies and damping coefficients are independent of the parameters of the exciting pulse of the high-frequency field
