Hydrogen isotope effect on radical addition reaction of sodium hydrogensulfite to allyl alcohol

  • 1. Japan Atomic Energy Research Inst., Takasaki, Gunma. Takasaki Radiation Chemistry Research Establishment

Description

The radical addition reaction of sodium hydrogensulfite to allyl alcohol in D2O solution was investigated. The hydrogen isotope effect was found to be 4.11. This effect is attributed to the hydrogen atom abstraction of HOCH2C HCH2SO3-( , radical) radical ion from hydrogensulfite ion. (auth.)
