The measurement of particle size distribution by a Coulter Counter
Description
The effect of temperature, concentration of electrolyte and particle number concentration on particle volume measured by a Coulter Counter was investigated. It was found that the values measured by the Coulter Counter depend on the changes of specific resistance which were caused by the change of temperature and concentration of electrolyte. Moreover, simultaneous suction sampling which occurs at high particle number concentration not only causes the concidence loss, but changes the proportion of particle volume distribution. (auth.)
