Morphological investigation of the skeleton after irradiation
Description
Histological investigation of irradiated bone revealed fatty replacement of previously hematopoietic bone marrow and disintegration of bone and manifestations of necrosis. Microroentgenography complements ordinary roentgenographic investigation by revealing microfractures in an irradiated bone, which evidently formed the basis of the fractures of irradiated bones observed clinically
