Description

At the Oncological Institute in Prague the cobalt beam of the Chisostat irradiation device was standardized as a preliminary step in the preparation of the national comparison of gamma beam dose rates of therapeutical cobalt-beam irradiation devices. The standardization was carried out using three separate methods, i.e., the pressurized ionization chamber, the portable calorimeter, and the chemical Fricke dosemeter methods. Agreement was found for all three methods employed within measuring error limits; the relative error in the average dose rate value was found be +-2.2%. (A.K.)
