Variations of the geomagnetic field on appearance of large-scale waves of diffuse luminescence in the evening sector during a magnetic storm
Description
The luminescence wave characteristics on the equatorial diffusion boundary and geomagnetic variations during the magnetic storm on October 29, 1994 related thereto are studied. It is shown that the luminescence waves with the wavelength of approximately 150-250 km were distributed to the west with the velocity of about 1 km/s and were accompanied by strengthening the eastern electrojet, the ring current, the electrojet center and luminescent arc shift to the equator with the velocity of about 0.3 km/s and geomagnetic pulsations excitation within the range of Pc4-5 with T ≅ 150-240 s
