Numerical simulation of aerosol behaviour in a vented containment
Description
An integrated approach was used to simulate aerosol flow in a vented containment during a blowdown. The flow parameters of the carrier gas and aerosol were calculated simultaneously using the newly developed computer code FONS-AERO. FONS-AERO is a transient, multi-dimensional code which can handle gas and aerosol flows in a containment in detail. Complicated boundary conditions can also be incorporated readily. The code was used to simulate an idealized containment system. Some initial results are presented. (orig.)
