Description
An experiment has been carried out to study the effect of different doses of gamma irradiation (0.50,100,150,250 and 350 KGy) on total nitrogen (N), crude fibre (CF), and on cell-wall constituents (NDF,ADF and ADL) of broiler litter. The results indicate to significant (P<0.0001) decrease in CF, NDF,ADF and ADL values as a result of gamma irradiation treatment. there was no effect on total nitrogen. The highest effect on reducing CF, ADF and ADL values was at 350 KGy which 33% for ADL and CF 24% for ADF whereas dose at 250 KGy was the best to achieve the highest reduction in NDF which reached 20%. there was no significant difference in NDF values between doses 250 and 350 KGy.
