On interaction of an axisymmetric plasma flow with an inhomogeneous magnetic field
Description
Electromagnetic processes in cylindrical a plasma flow in an external alternating magnetic field are studied. By means of the Green functions the initial induction equation is reduced to nonlinear integro-differential equations for magnetic field components. The solution has been found in the first approximation. It is demonstrated that the Hall phenomena result in the appearance of longitudinal electrical fields and currents in the plasma. The role of the effect of the Hall currents on plasma interaction with the external magnetic field is elucidated and quantitative estimates are obtained. The possibilities of application of magnetohydrodynamic methods of energy transformation with the cylindrical plasma flow, which are based on the Hall effect, are discussed
