  • 1. Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (Netherlands). Lab. voor Anorganische Chemie

Description

Silver niobium sulfide, Ag0.6NbS2, Mr=223.48, hexagonal, P63/mmc, a=3.354 (1), c=14.431 (1) A, V=140.59 (6) A3, Z=2, Dx=5.279 g cm-3, λ(Mo K anti α)=0.71073 A, μ=93 cm-1, F(000)=203.9, T=295 K, RF=0.037 for 335 observed reflections with I≥3.0σ(I). This single-crystal study confirms the space-group symmetry known from powder data. The structure is based on NbS2 sandwiches, between which Ag is statistically distributed in the tetrahedral holes.
