Description
The possible use of the slowing-down lead neutron spectrometer created at the experimental area of the Moscow Meson Factory for measuring the fission cross sections of transuranium elements produced in the reactor fuel cycle is discussed. The pulsed proton beam compressed in the storage ring makes experiments with Pu239 samples as small as 10-12 g possible at statistical accuracy of 3% in the neutron energy range 1 eV - 50 keV. The prototype of the SLNS on the proton beam of the MMF with the sensitivity about 10-9 g is in use now. 9 refs., 1 fig., 2 tabs
