Structural analyses of sector magnet by a finite element method
- 1. Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, Wako, Saitama (Japan)
Description
Finite element method (FEM) is widely used for the analysis of complex structures by the aid of digital computer. The deformation of the sector magnet structure as a result of various forces acting on it was analyzed by EFM codes. The analyses by using a two-dimensional code (FEM-2) have been completed. The analyses by using three-dimensional code (SAP-5) have been partly completed. The results for slab structure and a small gap between pole and upper yoke are presented. (author)
