Description
A zero dimensional time dependent computer model is applied to investigate post-implosion behavior of STP-L (Staged Theta Pinch Linear) reverse field theta pinch apparatus. A rigid rotor model is used to describe the radial behavior of density and magnetic field. For appropriate εn αi, numerical predictions of on-axis plasma ion temperature Ti and of particle confinement time τp are found to be in reasonably good agreement with experimental results from STP-L experiment. Therefore, the model in this paper is sufficiently useful to present the behavior of reverse field theta pinch plasma. (author)
